The school semester started on Monday. We've had interesting lectures about Situationists.

Very interesting indeed!
...But still I cannot help but falling a sleep since my rhythm of the day went upside down during the holidays (usually went to bed after 5am and sleeping until 2pm).

So the best I can do is to sketch and scribble. Keeping my hands busy makes it easier to stay awake and focused. Today I filled 12 pages of my sketchbook. Some of the drawings might turn into postcards later.

For the rest of the week we have time to realize our own situation or "situationist act" if I may say so. I'll do post about that later! Now it's good time to go asleep... Zzzzzzzzzz...

i love these!
Keep the pen moving.. That's my tactic in all early morning lecture classes. Or in nearly all lectures :D
I rarely end up sketching though. If I start drawing my mind goes too far away and I forget to listen. That's why I usually try to write down every small detail and observation that the lecturer makes and my own thoughts if I have any at that time of the morning.
But the principle is the same. Fight the tiredness!
That bear man is surrealistic to say the least. But I'd like to learn more about Situationism. I read about design probes (and culture probes in particular, which are a pretty inspiring way of research) and it said that they got a lot of influence from situationists.
Khrystnaaa: Thanks :D
Anna: The bear man is actually drawn from a picture in a book (the name of the book is written like statement) we had chance to have a glimpse.
The Situationist are very interesting and their influence comes trough in many places. Like Meiju Niskala could be called a modern day Situationist and many of the tasks we did in the high school creative writing class were clearly "situationist acts" (there actually cannot be such a term since every time it is about a situation that cannot really be replicated to an ism)... like the Derive - drifting - ajelehtiminen... WHich Im gonna do again :)
Looks like you have put a lot of effort in your blog, thank you for taking the time to write such useful information.
Really appreciate this post. It’s hard to sort the good from the bad sometimes, but I think you’ve nailed it!!! Very important topic and you just did an amazing job presenting it in a simple and clear manner.
